Which course is for you?
Become a ski instructor
If you know that you want to go on to become a ski instructor then your goal should be to get to a level 2 standard as quickly as possible. Having your Level 2 qualification opens up many more doors than level 1 plus it makes it easier to instruct outside of Canada. The best options for you are:
11-week ski instructor course
This is, if you like, the ‘fast track’ into the ski industry. On successfully gaining level 2 many of our clients head down to the Southern hemisphere at the end of the course to instruct in New Zealand, Australia or South America. They will then return to Canada the following winter.
3-week ski instructor course
If you can’t commit to 11 weeks then you should consider our 3-week ski instructor course. You should achieve your level 1 and, subject to having a work visa (www.bunac.org for more details) you could instruct for the remainder of the season.
5-week ski Instructor course
Looking to get your level 1 but not quite ready for the 3-week course? Our 5-week course is great for anyone looking for a little more preparation time before the level 1 exam. The first two weeks of the course are focused solely on improving your skiing to get you looking like a pro. The instructor training then begins in week 3, where you will start to cover all elements of instructing as well as continuing with the development of your personal skiing.
10-week New Zealand ski instructor course
New Zealand's winter season runs from June to September so offers our participants the chance to do a ski instructor course during the Northern Hemisphere's summer time. This course offers NZSIA qualifications and is an ideal way of becoming a certified ski instructor and then teaching in the Northern Hemisphere after the course.
