Overview

With the 5 week level 1 ski instructor course, you'll spend four weeks improving your own technique before moving on to the formal instructor training. Even if you have relatively little experience, we'll get you up to speed in time, while you have fun skiing the whole mountain, with increasing confidence and style.

Often people take instructor courses so that they can massively improve their skiing ability and truly understand how to develop, however if you do aim to join the instructor industry then this is an excellent way in. With a CSIA qualification, you'll be able to apply for jobs all around the word.

Fernie is famous for receiving ridiculous amounts of snow. That, combined with an amazing variety of terrain, makes Fernie one of the world's best powder skiing destinations. There's no shortage of chutes, trees, gullies and bowls to explore. Plus with relatively few people on the mountain, there are always fresh stashes to be found. The town itself is typically Canadian, which adds a special element to the whole experience and in a very short time you will feel right at home.

While on the course, you'll have the opportunity to go cat-skiing, which is like heli-skiing but much cheaper! Time and again, people come back saying that it had been the best day skiing of their life. You'll also be able to take many other extra activities and courses, such as avalanche awareness and ski maintenance.
