We run our 11-week ski instructor courses at four Canadian resorts: Fernie, Red Mountain, Banff and Whistler. As one of the longest running companies to offer this type of course we had first pick of the best resorts in Canada and now have exclusive access to three of our four resorts.

Our aim is simple. Whether your goal is to become an instructor or not, at the end of the ski instructor course you will be skiing like one. How do we achieve this?
CANADA’S BEST INSTRUCTORS
We offer the highest standard of professional coaching available. Our instructors are experienced, sponsored coaches who are also qualified examiners of instructors and leading members of CSIA. We alternate instructors between groups so you can experience their individual teaching styles. To find out more about our instructors click here.
PROVEN SUCCESS STORIES
To date we have an impressive 100% pass rate for level 1. About half of the participants on our 11-week ski instructor course choose to take level 2 and last season the pass rate was an awesome 93%.
A CHOICE OF COURSE ROUTES
Some choose the course as a structured way of taking time out, while others are committed to developing a career as an instructor. Depending on your ambitions, after taking level 1, you can choose to either train for level 2 or concentrate your personal technique by taking the AMP (All Mountain Pro) course (see below).
A CAREFULLY PLANNED WEEKLY TIMETABLE
We include 25 hours of on and off snow coaching each week. Group lessons take place four days a week, for five hours per day. The fifth day is either used for 1:1 coaching sessions, additional courses (see below), long weekend trips (see below) and for free-skiing and crucially, practising what you have been taught during the week. From experience we know that this is the most successful formula for our clients, it is one that we have developed through six years of running the programmes and from continual client feedback.
EFFICIENT USE OF ON SNOW COACHING
Although influenced by snow conditions, as a general rule we concentrate on instructor techniques in the morning and personal skills in the afternoon. Both sessions develop a technical understanding of skiing and enable you to correct your mistakes by critically analysing your technique.
OFF SNOW TECH SESSIONS
To complement the on-snow coaching, we provide weekly technical sessions which include: teaching techniques, lesson planning, ski theory, equipment design, ski maintenance, boot fitting and a careers advice seminar.
SMALL GROUP SIZES
We ensure small instructor group sizes of between six and eight people, allowing instructors to pay close attention to each skier's needs and yet there are enough people per group to learn from each other and to use as test students in practise lessons.
1:1 PRIVATE COACHING
These sessions are perfect for you and your instructor to work on specific skills and to discuss your ambitions for the programme. These sessions are unique to NONSTOP and held before the level 1 and level 2 assessments.
RIDE WITH PEOPLE OF A SIMILAR ABILITY
Our instructor groups are split according to ability and experience. Due to the popularity of our ski instructor courses we have the capacity to group individuals with others of a similar ability, this ensures no one is pushed too hard or held back by their peers. To find out your ability level… click here.
VIDEO ANALYSIS
This will help you critique skiing styles in yourself and others and develop your skills in ‘detection and correction’. NONSTOP owns plenty of video cameras and we have access to video playback screens close to the slopes.
VARIED TERRAIN
Canada’s varied terrain and deep powder conditions result in a rapid rate of progression. Our coaching will develop your personal technique in all conditions including on piste, in the terrain park, and in powder.
WORK EXPERIENCE
After you have achieved your level 1 certification you have the opportunity to gain work experience in the local ski school, an invaluable experience that will facilitate future employment.

NONSTOP Ski provides the opportunity to gain Canadian Ski Instructors Association (CSIA) qualifications. CSIA is a member of the ISIA (International Ski Instructors Association) and is internationally recognised throughout the snow sports industry.
While on our 11 week course we offer the chance to gain the following qualifications:
 |
|
|
| |
11 WEEK COURSE PASS RATE
Level 1 – 100% Level 2 – 93%
|
|
|
|
 |
- CSIA Level 1
- CSIA Level 2
- CSIA Snow Park Certification Course
- CSCF entry level course "trained" status

CSIA LEVEL 1
Most people will take level 1 in week 5 of the course. After each seasonaire has achieved their Level 1 qualification, a one to one review session will be held with a NONSTOP coach. This is an opportunity to discuss your aims for the remainder of the course and receive advice on the most suitable route to take (see below).
 CSIA LEVEL 2
The Level 2 assessment is a significant step-up from Level 1 and will require dedicated commitment throughout the 11-weeks. The main Level 2 exam is held in week 11 but in some instances we can offer a second chance to take level 2 once the course is over, allowing you to receive more coaching during the course and be better prepared for the assessment.
CSIA PARK AND PIPE & RACE COACH
We also offer the chance to train for and achieve coaching qualifications such as the CSIA Park and Pipe (developing your freestyle skills off kickers, in the half pipe and on rails) and CSIA Race Coach (slalom racing).
For more information about the CSIA qualifications please click here.

At NONSTOP Ski we recognise that some people who choose an 11-week ski instructor course are unlikely to ever actually work as an instructor and are doing the course as a structured, enjoyable way of spending a season. Therefore we realise the importance of offering more than just instructor training. So for those who are more interested in their personal performance (as opposed to the CSIA level 2 qualification) the All Mountain Pro certification is the perfect solution. AMP offers a structured development programme with set standards and defined goals so that after the level 1 instructor exam (which everyone does) you can make the most of the snow conditions while pushing your skiing progression right through to the end of the course.

During the course we organise a variety of weekend trips designed to ensure that you leave the course with a good knowledge of the local area and having experienced more than just great skiing! VISIT ANOTHER RESORT (3 – 15 credits)
We organise trips to other resorts in the area for you to experience more of Canada.

Led by professional guides, this is a fun-filled afternoon spent driving snowmobiles.

In the spirit of team bonding we organise weekly social events such as: road hockey (a classic Canadian pastime), tobogganing, pub-crawls, watching the local ice hockey team, curling, house parties, ice-skating, night skiing, and a whole lot more! These evenings are lots of fun and help develop a close-knit friendly atmosphere.

Our package includes flights from the UK to either Calgary (Fernie & Banff courses) or Vancouver (Red Mt & Whistler courses) with Air Canada. A UK member of staff will be on hand at Heathrow to see you off. You'll then be welcomed into Canada by your Course Directors before taking the transfer bus to the resort.
We can arrange alternative flight dates for those who are staying in Canada before and/or after their course. Normally there is no additional charge for this, but please check with us for further details.
We deduct £450 if you do not require a flight (for instance if flying from outside the UK or the course is part of a 'round the world' trip).
In the unlikely event that direct flights are unavailable we will inform you of this and then look to book an indirect flight. It is worth noting that the earlier you book your course the more likely we can secure a direct flight.
