COACHING

Our Rockies Tour includes seven days of ski coaching divided between Fernie, Red Mountain and Kicking Horse. All our instructors are hand picked and are there to build your confidence in whatever area you feel necessary. They will develop your all-mountain technique, teaching you on the piste, through moguls, down tree runs and in the powder. NONSTOP instructors, local to each resort, will be there to guide you to the best terrain and freshest powder ensuring you maximise your enjoyment at each ski area.

CAT SKIING AT RED

The highlight of the trip! Cat-skiing involves travelling up the mountain on a CAT (or piste-basher) in search of fresh powder. It works on a similar principal to heli-skiing and you should expect to do about 8-9 runs in a day. The journey back up is your opportunity to share stories of the previous run with your powder companions. This is truly memorable experience!

FERNIE

With one of the highest snowfalls in North America you will not be disappointed by Fernie’s “steep and deep” conditions. There are plenty of groomed runs to warm up on although the emphasis is very much on off piste skiing with plenty of tree runs, open bowls, gullies and the 'champagne powder' which Fernie is renowned for.

The town of Fernie is a short seven minute drive from the ski resort and although it is now one of the world's "must ski" destinations it has retained it's relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. NONSTOP participants are consistently taken aback by the warm welcome they receive from the locals. It has an excellent selection of restaurants, bars, coffee shops and plenty of great places to buy kit for the tour.

ACCOMMODATION

The Beaver Lodge Chalet is run by our great friends Jenny and Kerk. Kirk is a pro-patroller on the mountain and Jenny has ski instructed for many years. Their B&B is one of Fernie’s finest heritage homes and has been lovingly refurbished to create a warm and homely place to stay. The breakfasts are fantasticand you’ll wake to the smell of freshly baked bread each morning. A great place to stay for the true Fernie experience.

WHITEWATER

Whitewater ski resort is located just outside Nelson BC and is a mountain with an enviable reputation for serious quantities of snow (a season average of 40ft!). Like Fernie, the terrain has something for everyone, from steeps, deeps, chutes, bowls, glades, groomed cruisers and gentle rollers. It has built its reputation on deep snow, short to zero lift queues and big hospitality. Plus, the food here is so delicious there's even a famous Whitewater recipe book!

The town of Nelson is 12 kilometres from Whitewater and is a fun quirky little town nestled on the shores of the stunning Kootenay Lake. Nelson has some great heritage buildings (350 to be exact) which along with the numerous music shops, museums and galleries give the town a unique cultural feel. It's truly one of those places that people find hard to leave.

ACCOMMODATION

The Dancing Bear Inn, situated in the heart of Nelson, is a firm favourite with NONSTOP staff. The bedrooms are simple yet extremely comfortable and there is a cosy sitting room with internet access and a library of books, games and films.

RED MOUNTAIN

A favourite of those in the know (and the ski press), Red Mountain offers world class skiing and riding with no lift queues, empty pistes and a fantastic friendly atmosphere. The resort incorporates two peaks with 360° skiing off the top offering an awesome variety of lines down gladded tree meadows, wide open groomed pistes and award-winning steeps. Red Mountain was opened in 1947 making it one of Canada’s oldest resorts.
The town of Rossland lies approximately three kilometres from the resort. It is a laid back ski town with some excellent restaurants, coffee shops and book shops to enjoy during your stay. Rossland is the sort of place that once you've experienced its delights you'll want to take your friends.

ACCOMMODATION

At Red Mountain we stay at the “ski-in” Copper Chalets at the base of Red Mountain. These four bedroom houses have really comfortable bedrooms and are equipped with all the mod. con’s including outdoor private hot tubs. A great way to finish your day!

RADIUM HOT SPRINGS

On the drive from Red Mountain to Kicking Horse, we will stop off at Radium Hot Springs - a great opportunity to break the journey and relax our weary muscles in these natural hot springs!

KICKING HORSE

Kicking Horse is fast becoming a world famous destination and it is no suprise why. With seriously steep pitches, great snow and uncrowded runs this resort is a great stop on our tour. Just like Fernie and Red Mountain this resort is better suited to the more advanced skier, however there is something for everyone at this up and coming resort.

For apres ski Kicking Horse has a selection of bars and restaurants at the base of the hill but it is Golden where you will most likely head after a day's skiing. The town of Golden is close to the resort and offers a good choice of bars and restaurants, if you are looking for a special meal experience then head for the Eagle's Eye a fantastic restaurant at the top of the mountain with amazing food a views to match.

ACCOMMODATION

The Kicking Horse River Lodge is a spectacular log building which fronts the raging Kicking Horse River and has a stunning view of the Purcell mountains and Ski Resort (about 15 minutes away). The lodge is both comfortable and stylish with its beautiful log and timber furniture and all the necessary amenities to enjoy your stay. It is just a short walk from the lodge to downtown Golden.

FLIGHTS & TRANSPORT

FLIGHTS

Our package includes flights from London Heathrow to Calgary. You'll be welcomed into Canada by your course host before making the journey to Fernie.

If you would rather book your own flight we can deduct £450 from the cost of the tour. Additionally, we can arrange alternative flight dates for those who would like to extend their stay. Normally there is no additional charge for this, but please check with us for further details.

It is worth noting that the earlier you book your course the more likely we can secure a direct flight. In the unlikely event that direct flights are unavailable we will inform you of this and then look to book an indirect flight.

TRANSPORT

Our NONSTOP host has an enviable wealth of local knowledge and will be on hand to help you make the most of your time in each resort as well as driving our comfortable 15 seater minbus.
