WHAT NEXT?
Every year in the middle August half a million students receive their A-level results. Most people will have already made the decision on whether or not to take a Gap Year. However some people decide to wait and see what results they get and then make a decision depending on what degree courses are available to them and at which universities.
UCAS is the organisation that processes applications for full-time undergraduate courses at all UK universities and colleges. After A-level results are announced a period referred to as ‘Clearing’ starts. UCAS releases lists of the remaining courses available which are published in national newspapers and on the UCAS website. If you’re trying to secure a place at university please click here. If after your results you decide that you want to take a gap year then give us a call to discuss your options. All of us at NONSTOP Ski took gap years after A-levels and will happily advise you on the wide range of options open to you from backpacking, teaching in Africa or joining one of our gap year snowboard courses. Although most people secure their place on our courses before the summer we do normally still have a few spots available until late Autumn. Some of our more popular gap year courses are as follows:
The ultimate gap year experience. Spend 3 months living and travelling in the Canadian Rockies, become an awesome snowboarder, gain useful instructor and coaching qualifications, and make a load of new friends. Doing a season like this will be one of the best experiences of your life! We offer a choice of three world class resorts to spend your season.
Held in Fernie this course involves focused coaching in preparation for the Level 1 snowboard instructor qualification. You’ll need to be an intermediate (10+weeks) to advanced skier. If you arrange a student work visa you could get a job after the course and spend the rest of the season earning as an instructor.
