GO FOR GOLD
Several of our past clients have used our courses as a means of progressing their Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award. Our Gap year courses are an ideal choice for the Residential Project section of the award. All of our courses easily fulfil the aim of the Residential Project - "to broaden young people's experiences through involvement with others in a residential setting."
NONSTOP Ski COURSES WILL PROVIDE YOU WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO:
• Meet new people • Experience an unfamiliar environment • Build new relationships • Gain useful internationally recognised ski instructor qualifications • Work as part of a team towards shared goals (eg: our survival weekend) • Accept responsibility for self and others (eg: when instructing) • Develop communication skills (eg: training to instruct) • Show initiative • Enjoy living and working with others • Become an awesome skier or snowboarder
The requirements of the Residential section are "To undertake a shared activity or specific course in a residential setting away from home and in an unfamiliar environment." Residential opportunities can offer a range of challenges. Our courses will develop personal skills such as problem solving, improve communication skills and confidence and instil a sense of achievement. On arrival in Canada make sure you remind our course director that your course will form part of your Gold Award. At the end of the course our director will complete your Duke of Edinburgh Award Record Book. For more information check out: www.theaward.org. Suitable courses include our or 3-week instructor course or 11-week instructor course.
