Fernie Alpine Resort – Legendary Powder Is Just The Beginning
Fernie Alpine Resort and the nearby town of Fernie, BC holds a charm that has grown to attract devotees from around the world. The town has an authentic, Canadian ski town feel, and the ski resort boasts over 2,504 acres of spectacular terrain, 112 runs, and an average of 8.75 metres (29 feet) of snowfall each season. Fernie Alpine Resort ranks among the Top 5 ski resorts in North America, as named by Skiing Magazine.
Top Runs:
For experts looking for powder I think Snake Ridge is a good choice for skiers and for snowboarders I would try Tom’s Run in Currie Bowl- real long fall line – both offer great terrain to enjoy on one of those many wonderful powder days! For intermediate skiers and riders, One Two Three and the Bear are great runs that offer a real variety of terrain and pitches but with a great fall line. Enough to challenge you but still have fun on.
What really makes Fernie special is that is a real mountain, real people and real town. Not a resort town with lots of concrete and shops on every corner like you would have in your hometown. It feels like a real escape and it should as you are in a place that would be designated a National Park if it were in another country. The town has a great vibe to it and has the right mix of shops and retaurants.
Enjoy ski-in and ski-out convenience with a wide range of accommodations and dining options in the slopeside mountain village.
Fernie Alpine Resort is known for its legendary powder, but is famous for so much more.
